How are you keeping busy during lockdown? My days

How are you keeping busy during lockdown? My days are a mixture of eating cake, walking Snuffles ( sometimes twice daily 😬) baking cake, eating more cake and painting. There is some work thrown in here and there, gotta pay the bills hey?! But the difference for me in this long lockdown and last years is giving myself permission to do much less. I’ve got so many properties waiting for me to style after lockdown, so I know I’m not going to have much of a life. Or a while 🤷‍♀️😅 Last year I really struggled to feel like I was constantly achieving. It was exhausting. I wish I had painted last year though. I’ve so enjoyed putting my creative artist hat ( a beret of course 😅) back on. Which is your favourite? These will be going into my styling stock so you’ll be seeing them again at some point soon all styled looking pretty!

It’s been a little while since I spoke about mys

It’s been a little while since I spoke about myself, this picture was from a few months ago in the ye olde days when we could leave the house.

I thought I’d tell you 5 things about me you may or may not know 🤷‍♀️☺️

1- I’m one of those freakish few who always knew what they wanted to do as a child. When I was 8 my family built the home I grew up in Eltham and we spent A LOT of time visiting display homes getting ideas. Do I remember the homes? No. Do I remember the fake fruit on the bench?! Yes I do! 😅 After that process I knew I wanted to get into the interiors world. I’m grateful I’ve always known, I suppose in some ways it’s made my life easier.

2- I’m totally a product of the 90s. I still quote The Simpsons and I’m disappointed when my younger friends don’t get my references 🤣

3- When I was 16 I was super obsessed with Oasis and with some friends, managed to stay at the hotel they were staying at in Melbourne. We got invited to their after party. I have a photo with Liam! They all were the nicest guys and to this day it was one of the best nights of my life. I’m still surprised my parents let me 😆🤔

4- After finishing my studies, I moved to London at the age of 20. I can’t believe I went so young but I survived and loved it so, so, so much. I stayed for about 2 years. I was so sad to come home and took years to get over it.

5- I’m a proud redhead. I’ve never dyed my hair. My hair was much brighter when I was younger so in my mind I’m still that redhead. When out walking Snuffles and I see a Pomeranian ( or similarly coloured dogs) I often point out to the owner their hair is the same colour as mine 🤣🤷‍♀️ They will most likely think I’m weird.

I hope these facts gave you a giggle or some sort of reaction 🤷‍♀️😅

I’m not often awake early enough to see the sun

I’m not often awake early enough to see the sun rise or at least pay attention to it, but this morning I was so lucky! For a few minutes it just kept getting better 🥰 Not sure about you, but my sleep is all over the shop during lockdown, hence the early wake up. I can confirm that I will be napping later though 😅

I recently styled a stunning townhouse in East Ivanhoe. It was such a beautiful home. Super modern but very homely. Not all styling jobs are this lovely unfortunately 😆 But I love challenge, and the old, not so aesthetically pleasing houses challenge me so! You’ve gotta take the good with the bad hey?!

It’s lockdown which means I’ve had actual time

It’s lockdown which means I’ve had actual time ( what?! 😱 what is that? 🤔) to think about my apartment. This is terrible, but they do come in handy to get shit done. I know, I know. 🙈 I’m forced to look at my semi renovated house for longer than normal 😬😳It makes me get stuff done. So I’ve decided on the palm tree wallpaper design to go with the geometric one. Who says you can’t put pattern with pattern? Me. I’m saying it. Watch this space. At some point in the future I’ll have an actual entire room finished 🤣 It’ll be super over the top but it will make me super happy 😃

Not sure about you, but every time a lockdown hits, my focus, motivation and general enthusiasm wane. Or go out the window 🤷‍♀️😅 It’s hard to get out of bed in the morning when it’s been so cold 🥶 too. You’d think I’d be used to it by now hey?! 🤪 5 times around and I’m sure there’ll be more 😬🙄🤷‍♀️😝 Here’s a cosy looking bed that would be nice to snuggle in. Styled by moi.

I forgot to post this from a while ago, finally getting the wallpaper up that I’ve been thinking about for ages! Probably since the last Melbourne lockdown right 😅 My entry hall is getting some bling to go with the magenta 🥰 With the announcement of the extended lockdown I’m determined to get lots of painting done 💪 Yesterday I painted some gross old window frames, turning them into crisp white. But being ye olde, I’ve had to use oil paint. Mmmm, nothing like being trapped in with some oil paint fumes 👎 🤣 I still haven’t finished 😬 I’ve since baked chocolate chip cookies so the smells have blended nicely 😅😆🤷‍♀️

This home was so much fun styling. A 3 storey unit with 3 living spaces, 2 study nooks and 3 bedrooms, it’s huge. A massive 7 metre square living room is always tricky, but I love a challenge 😆 I really wanted to create a homely and warm space so it didn’t feel so huge.
